This handbook has been written by members of the Rice faculty to provide their colleagues with useful information about the policies, procedures, and services of the university. It does not create a contract or establish a policy; rather it guides members of the faculty to existing policies, which always supersede this handbook and which are readily available on the university's web site (极光pn安卓版) and in the president's office. The university is committed to keeping this handbook up to date, particularly its online version, but policies are constantly changing, and members of the faculty should consult the official policies to verify what is current. The online version is linked to most relevant documents.

Affirmative Action/ Equal Opportunity

Rice University is committed to affirmative action and equal opportunity in education and employment. Accordingly, Rice does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, age, disability or veteran status. Members of the Rice faculty share with the administration responsibility for sustaining this policy. They should work closely with the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action.
